X Bio Limits

X bio character limit: write a profile that fits before people tap more

X profiles are compact. Even when your text is within the character limit, the profile header may only show a few visible lines before the layout moves on to links, metadata, and follow information. That makes line length just as important as character count.

Character count and visible lines are different

Character limits count how much text a field accepts. Visible lines describe what people see immediately on a particular device. Unicode fonts can make text wider, and emojis can change line breaks, so a bio can fit the limit but still look crowded.

Why BioType marks hidden text

BioType estimates how your bio wraps inside an X-style mobile profile. When text crosses the recommended visible lines, the overflow is marked in red so you can shorten, reword, or change styles before publishing.
